Matthey Automotive was founded in November of 2001 by Jud Matthey, Owner and ASE Master Automobile Technician. Matthey Automotive moved to their main Collingswood location on Route 130 over 5 years ago and opened the Cherry Hill location around 4 years ago. Both locations are now local Collingswood and Cherry Hill fixtures. We pride ourselves in offering our local community the highest quality automotive service possible.

Jud Matthey caught his passion for cars and trucks at a very young age, working on cars with his Dad and older brother. His dad converted engines to run on propane, which is how he got his passion for working on alternative fuel vehicles. He started his automotive career in his early teens, working on cars in his mom's garage in Collingswood. His first “paying” job was at the Mobil in Oaklyn, and he quickly absorbed as much as he could working at Cottman Transmission and T & L Transportation.
He now has over 25 years of professional experience working on all types of vehicles, but specializing in alternative and diesel fuel vehicles. Jud has spent his life and career in the Collingswood and Cherry Hill area and is a proud member of the community. He graduated from Collingswood High School in 1995. His formal automotive education came from Pennco Technical Institute, where he graduated in 1997. Jud continues to expand his knowledge on the ever changing automotive industry through continuing education and ASE courses.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has set the standard for automotive excellence in that industry. In order to be certified, technicians must take courses, study and pass exams. Jud Matthey has personally achieved the Master Automobile Technician certification, along with eight other certifications for automobile/light truck repairs and three for trucks.

Matthey Automotive as a facility is also a NJ Licensed Emission Repair Facility and is in the process of becoming a private New Jersey State Inspection Facility.
